What the Book Was About:

Freezing point follows a family that is trying to survive after the world tilts on its axis and the world begins freezing in an everlasting winter. The family is trying to make it somewhere warmer and picks up friends along the way. Will they make it to their destination? Will everyone survive?

First Impressions:

The writing is very detailed. At first I had difficulty getting into the book because of this. However, the book picks up its pace about halfway through.

What I Liked:

I really enjoyed the premise in the book. What would happen if our earth tilted? Would we survive it? How would we manage? Are we prepared for such a thing to happen. Short Answer: No.

The family was overall very likeable, though Nathan rubbed me wrong several times. He always puts his morals above the good of his family and while morality is an important trait, it almost gets several of them killed time and time again. I feel like he’s foolish and has no street smarts. His wife was much more prepared and ready to take action.

What I didn’t Like:

The book dragged at times. I felt like it was a good way through before the pace started to pick up. This book was entirely about the journey from one location to another.

I hate major cliffhangers. I was disappointed that the book ended on a major cliffhanger. I’m interested enough to read the next book in this case, but usually if authors do this, I won’t read them again.

Final thoughts:

If you like post-apocalyptic style books, you may enjoy this one. It is a lot of fun to see how the story progresses. There are some unexpected turns along the way. If you are in need of a book you can read in a few hours, this fits the bill.
