Sleep, Sheep! is about a boy named Duncan that gives his mom a difficult time at bedtime. He thinks of a million excuses to not go to sleep. Duncan’s mom is smart however, and she decides to provide every possible thing Duncan could want ahead of time so that he had nothing left to ask for. When he says he’s not sleepy, his mom suggests counting sheep. One particular sheep is not all that dissimilar to Duncan. At this point Duncan is tired and wants to go to bed. But this sheep needs a glass of water, and to use the bathroom, and so on. This book is an excellent book for teaching young children about not avoiding bedtime. It shows a funny parallel that the boy is as inconvenienced as his mom. I highly recommend this book and hope to own a hardcover copy of it someday!
