I’ve always loved Anne of Green Gables. It was a book that really gave me joy when dealing with the difficult parts of life and I reread it again and again. What I didn’t know was that Lucy Maud Montgomery, or “Maud” as she went by, based Anne on herself. I had no idea what kinds of struggles she faced or that she was just like Anne when she was a little girl. Reading this book was similar to reading an abbreviated form of Anne’s story. I admire Maud for giving writing a go and never letting society stop her from becoming who she was meant to be. This was another great book in the Little People, Big Dreams series!

Thank you to Quarto Publishing Group – Frances Lincolns Children’s Books for making this book available to me.
