What the Book is About

This is a collection of three short, Christian, romance stories centered around Christmas. Each protagonist is a talented young woman looking for love. How will their stories play out?

First Impressions

Immediately, I was drawn to the great cover art for this book. When I started reading, I really enjoyed the simple and easy-to-digest writing. These are great stories for curling up to read under a blanket!

What I Liked

These stories, while all unique, all managed to equally capture my interest in the couples written about. I was really rooting for each romance as it developed and it felt like each victory for the protagonist was a victory of my own. There’s something so sweet about Christian and historical romances as well. The stories are very clean and pure. The sweetness in each small gesture really tugs at the heart. Out of all three, the first one was definitely my favorite story in the collection.

What I Didn’t Like

While the stories were captivating and grabbed my attention, what bothered me about them was their endings. Each one ended at the proposal and left me without follow-up and closure. I wanted to know more about these couples I’d been reading about and there was none of that. It left me wondering.

Another important thing I took issue with in these stories was some of the heavy topics broached in them. These books are very lighthearted at their core, but topics such as child abuse, death, and rape really took me out of the atmosphere the writers seemed to be going for. It made the cute and romantic experiences somewhat dark. While that might be good for some readers, I didn’t think those topics seemed to have a place here.

Final Thoughts

Overall I would highly recommend these books to anyone who won’t shy away from the darker topics mentioned. They’re very good stories with a lot of three-dimensional characters you can really fall in love with.
